Before I lived in Alaska, I lived in Northern Arizona, where Coyotes are a common sight. The desolate plateau lands of that area have a beauty of their own.

This painting was inspired by a Moose cow, and calf, that I saw near my home on Mother's Day. This painting appeared on the Remington Firearms 2009 Calendar. Before that, it was used as a 2008 Conservation Stamp by the Nunavut Wildlife Federation. The lucky purchaser of this original painting will recieve a calendar and stamp to accompany the painting.

A common occurance in the Boreal Forest is a smoky atmosphere, caused by distant forest fires. Some of these fires in remote areas, burn all summer, and char millions of acres. That was the situation that inspired this painting of a Northern Hawk Owl at dusk.

White-throated Toucans are a common sight in many parts of the Amazon Basin. I have seen them in Ecuador, and Peru. They are impressive birds.

Sparrows are one of my favorite subjects to paint. I love their subtle patterns and colors. This White-crowned Sparrow is perched in the daisies that grow beside my house.

I love painting sparrows, and weedy meadows. This is a beautiful, Golden-crowned Sparrow.

This Eagle perched too close to the waterfall, and got drenched by the spray, because of it.
The Way to Hope, 16x20", $1,600.oo
The title of this painting has two meanings. First is that one can see nesting Trumpeter Swans, while travelling from my town, on the way to the tiny village of Hope, Alaska. The second meaning is because Trumpeter Swans were once on the brink of extinction, but have rebounded with protection. This gives hope for other species in danger of extinction.
River Patrol, 16x20"
This pair of Bald Eagles cruises up and down Eagle River, near my home.
