The Boss, 12x16", $960.oo
A bull Elk in it's prime is one of North Americas most impressive animals.
Hour of Gold, 18x24"
Sunset in the far north lasts for hours. These Wolves rest in a spot where they can survey the surrounding Tundra.
Pacific Loon, 11x14"
Pacific Loons tend to occupy smaller bodies of water than their larger cousins, the Common Loons.
Cougar Canyon, 11x14" $770.oo
A Cougar roams a Southwestern canyon in the evening light.
Daybreak on the Meadow, 16x20"
This Red Fox strides through the wet grass at first light. I loved painting the grass and Lupine in the foreground of this painting.
Cold, 16x20"
Cold is the only adequate title I could come up with to convey the mood of this Snowy Owl painting. Out on the tundra, icy winds drive snow across the surface of the ground.
Grandfather Tree, 18x24", $1,728.oo
Old coniferous snags provide habitat for many species long after the tree dies. This old, forest giant makes a nice perch for a Goshawk.
Portrait of a Wild Heart, 11x14", $770.oo
Just a portrait of a screaming eagle.
Pecking Order, 16x20", $1,600.oo
Snowy Owl chicks gather around their mother on the Arctic Tundra. The biggest chicks get the closest, and are always the first to get fed.
Otter Lake Trumpeter, 18x24"
Otter Lake is on Fort Richardson Military Reservation in Alaska. It hosts nesting Trumpeter Swans, and Common Loons. It is a good place to go see these birds, plus many more wild species. The fishing is not bad either.
Saw-whet Owl, 18x24",$2,160.oo
I loved to create soft, moody atmosphere in some of my paintings. Like most owls, the Saw-whet Owl is much easier to hear than to see.
Following Ancient Footsteps, 18x24", $1,850.oo
Grizzly Bears often follow annual routes to traditional feeding grounds. They wear trails that are used by successive generations. This mother bear shows the route to the next generation.
Ship Creek Harlequins, 24x30" $2,880.oo
Ship Creek passes through downtown Anchorage, and up through both Elmendorf A.F.B., and Fort Richardson. Eventually it peters out in the Chugach Mountains. Harlequin Ducks nest along swift moving streams, and winter in coastal waters.
Grounded Snowies, 16x20", $1,600.oo
Migrating Snow Geese are temporarily grounded on the Palmer Hay Flats in Alaska, by dense fog.

Winter Sun, 12x16", $960.oo
This Snowshoe Hare huddles in the sunlight, hoping to find a little warmth. The constant wind on this exposed slope has blown off most of the snow.
Cliffside Puffins, 11x14", $770.oo
These Tufted Puffins peer out from their cliffside nest burrow on a typical foggy, summer day.
Red-necked Grebe, 11x14"
This is one of my all-time favorite paintings. I somehow managed to paint the whole thing in one day. Every step of the painting came off without a hitch. That never happens. It's based on an incident that happened at Spenard Crossing in Anchorage. I was standing on top of a beaver lodge, looking out at the waterfowl on the small lake. This grebe popped up from underwater,(with a fish in it's beak), right below my feet.
The Thoroughfare, 24x30", $2,880.oo
The Thoroughfare River in Denali Nat. Park is aptly named. It is a heavily used highway for migrating animals because walking along the river's gravel bed is easier than trudging through tundra.
Preening Swans, 11x14", $770.oo
These two Trumpeter Swans are busy preening their immaculate, white feathers. Swans often preen to mask nervousness. I suspect the swans that inspired this painting were uncomfortable with my presense, as I photographed them from a distance.
Alaska Wild, 20x16"
These wolves are crossing over a ridge in the Chugach Mountains.
